Fundraising for research on AI for lung cancer immunotherapy

The Dutch Foundation "Zeven voor Leven" organizes every year a sport event to raise funding for oncology research.

This year, they have selected my research on AI for improved immunotherapy treatment of lung cancer patients as their primary target, promoted by the Radboud Oncologie Fonds.

This research develops in the context of my NWO-funded VIDI grant "IGNITE", and aims at supporting development and validation of novel AI models via multi centric data collection from clinical practice and clinical trials, as well as generation of novel data for spatial biology AI such as spatial proteomics and transcriptomics.

On behalf of the IGNITE team (in the picture below, from left to right: Joey Spronck, PhD candidate; Shoko Vos, Pathologist; myself; Leander van Eekelen, Senior scientific engineer; Valerie Dechering, Pathology laboratory technician), I am thankful to the Zeven voor Leven foundation for their trust in my research and its impact.

We are setting up a team to give our contribution to this initiative by either cycling or walking, I will post more information here as soon as a team page is available.
