December 13, 2024 | As academic lead on AI development within the IMI-funded BigPicture project, I was interviewed on the present and future of AI developments within the project and in the computational pathology community, with focus on foundation models. The interview is available at this link.
July 2024 | I gave the initial lecture on "Machine Learning for Digital Pathology" to kick off the course on "Basics of computational pathology" (from theory to the development of your first own algorithms), with a primary audience of pathologists, organized by the European Society of Digital Pathology (ESDIP). My lecture (1:15h) is accessible via free registration on the ESDIP Academy platform.
June 19, 2024 | I gave an invited lecture on Artificial Intelligence in Colorectal Cancer and Applications to Gastrointestinal (GI) hereditary tumors at the InSIGHT conference in Barcelona. The recording of my talk can be access via the InSIGHT platform.
June 17, 2024 | Together with my colleagues Annemarie Boleij and Nils Kohn, I was interviewed (in Dutch) by the Dutch magazine ICT & Health on our multidisciplinary work on multimodal AI to investigate interconnections between the gut and the brain (i.e., the but-brain axis) using digital pathology, fMRI and gut microbiome data. April 18, 2024 | Within the context of the EU-funded HEREDITARY project, I was interviewed by Observa on current developments, challenges and opportunities of medical AI and its potential role in communicating results of AI-based predictions to patients.
